How many Google visitors do AI answers cost you?
With AI Overviews and AI Mode, Google answers more and more questions itself. But not every website loses the same. Pick your industry and see in two clicks how strongly questions in your field are affected and what you can do. Based on real Search Console data from around 300 websites.
I’ll work it out for your industry.

Two steps to your result

How the calculator works
- 01Pick your industryThe calculator takes the share of the three question types in your industry, measured on real search queries.
- 02Enter your visitorsFrom this it estimates how many of your visitors typically arrive via longer questions without brand names.
- 03Read the resultFor that part it applies the measured change in click-through rate per question type. Everything runs in your browser.
What our data shows
The same query on the same website in the same position, summer 2025 vs summer 2026.
AI answers take clicks away mainly where people only want to know something: minus 40% when AI answers the question completely, minus 28% when it answers part of it. People who want to do something keep clicking: when a website is needed, click-through rate fell by only 11%. For most businesses that is good news if they have the right pages. Sites that answer many pure knowledge questions, such as guides and magazines, lose clearly.
How click-through rate has developed since summer 2025
The same query on the same website in the same position, each month compared with July to September 2025. Across all industries, without media sites.
